I am a 30-something teacher who decided to pack up and move abroad. I am now in my sixth year of teaching at an incredible international school in Madrid, Spain.
Within the walls of my school, I feel like I am teaching in the U.S. We teach according to the Common Core standards. We order all of our supplies and curriculum from the states (thank goodness for Post-It brand sticky notes!) and we teach entirely in English. My students are one-third American, one-third Spanish, and one-third international. It is a wonderful place to teach!
Outside those walls, you will find me on a nearly constant quest to figure out life in another language! It is a big challenge and definitely not as easy as I thought it would be.
I LOVE to travel and I head out as much as I can. Since I’ve lived here in Spain, I have taken trips all around the world!
In 2014, our daughter Finley was born here in Madrid. We spend most of our time laughing because she has such a great sense of humor!
These adventures are amazing but I still definitely miss my life in the U.S. – Family, Target, ENGLISH! I am happily sharing this adventure with you!
